Mrs. Yetunde Gbolade, a commonwealth sponsored fellow has met the West Midlands Open College Principal,
Dr John Lukomona, shortly after her induction.

Yetunde, from Nigeria is a fellow undergoing development through the commonwealth sponsorship. The partnership platform that is developing her is that of the Lifegate Out Reach centre, the program management lead organisation, while the West Midlands Open College is the training partner.

 

Yetunde, at WMOC, will be studying the Business Planning for Social Enterprise and NGOs, With Diaspora Management the Community links options. In the process Yetunde will acquire the following transferable skills among many:

1. Ability to grow an organisation

2. Ability to fund raise through effective proposal write up and also using creative ideas in using natural resources and entrepreneurial skills.

3. Ability to link her work with the international community through High Commissions and Embassies.

4. Ability to identify the social gaps and design provisions that can meet the needs of a community.

“I am happy to be on the programme and I want people to see my photos, because I know they are waiting!” Said Yetunde

“I want to gain as much knowledge within the three months so that Nigeria can also move even more forward. We need a lot of development skills in Africa.”
